Dr. Sydney Burwell, Dean of Harvard Medical School 1956

My students are dismayed when I say to them "Half of what you are taught as medical students will in 10 years have been shown to be wrong.
And the trouble is, none of your teachers know which half."

Forever young: Google's quest for the Fountain of Youth
Google's new venture appears to have an agenda that is comfortable with being strange and speculative, and there are many enthusiastic not-for-profit life-extension organisations who have long anticipated life-spans of 200, 500 or 1,000 years. These "transhumanist" thinkers are now rejoicing at the prospect of someone with deep pockets championing their cause. PhysOrg

Diseases Codes ICD-10 for Android is an app with ICD-10 codes
ICD-10 codes are often used to enable storage and retrieval of diagnostic information for clinical, epidemiological and quality purposes. These records also provide the basis for the compilation of national mortality and morbidity statistics by WHO Member States. It is also used for reimbursement and resource allocation decision-making by countries. Such an app has little use for a physician but might be useful for an administrator. iMedicalApps

iLimb Enables Control of Bionic Hand With iPhone App
The iPhone app created for the iLimb allows users to program and train the hand themselves, thereby relieving those who travel hundreds of miles to see their prosthetist to adjust their grip. The app gives users the ability choose which of the 24 grip patterns they want available. The ability to adjust the grip is another plus as changes in the environment, such as heat and humidity, can affect how strongly muscles (which are used to control the prosthetic limb) contract. iMedicalApps
