Computer supports interpretation of EEGs
"This is the first time that, in addition to finding new algorithms for diagnosing epilepsy, a practical solution has been found which is suitable for clinical use. What is so unique about this method is that the computer software improves itself based on feedback received from the neurologist. Unfortunately, however, the program does not yet match up to the experience and intuition of neurologists. EEG patterns are often so complex that sometimes even doctors do not agree on specific findings." MedicalXpress

CliniCalc medical calculator is a good app but is it worth the cost?
This medical app has great clinical use. The full version only costs $4.99 and can be very convenient when needing to make quick calculations on the wards. It is also more convenient to have all of these formulas all in one place so there is no need to search them in a textbook or online. The app is also extremely user friendly and even allows the user to send feedback and requests for additional formulas. However, compared to MedCalc, this app offers the same formulas with less features for the same price. This app does have a free version that has limited formulas, but overall, MedCalc is a better value for the money. As of publish, there is no Android version available. iMedicalApps
Data from popular smoking cessation app shows patterns on when smokers try to quit
Smoke Free is a smoking cessation app that prompts users to complete a diary of their cravings over the past 24 hours. In addition, half the downloaders are randomly assigned to an experimental condition where each day for 31 days they are challenged to complete a mission designed to help them fall out of love with smoking, manage their cravings and recast themselves as a proud non-smoker. As such, it may be the first randomized control trial of smoking cessation performed with an app. iMedicalApps
